General information

For cervical cancer, sometimes an extended operation is performed by specialists, called Wertheim operation. The patient's uterus or cervix, and sometimes the ovaries, fallopian tubes, pelvic lymph nodes, lymphatic vessels, nerves and connective tissue are removed, which significantly changes the physiological state of the pelvic organs and the functioning of the body due to the absence of the female organs.

Symptoms

The symptoms resulting from these structural changes may be aggravated by radiotherapy and may include daily difficulties with constipation, vaginal stiffness, frequent voiding urge, sexual problems or a lack of urge to void, difficulty or inability to empty the bladder.

Treatment

Unfortunately, people don't really know where to turn for rehabilitation, but it would be very important for them to know that there are ways to control and improve their post-operative, altered bodily functions and get them in the best shape possible. Not even all professionals are aware that the Kriston Intimate Training is a unique help for women who want to recover. In our opinion, it is worth supporting improvement from all sides. The success of the Kriston Intimate Training lies in the complexity of its operation, to support quality of life. Progress is most intense, when physical, mental and spiritual influences are combined. The possibility of this extraordinary change is what the method provides, to improve excretory and sexual function, to improve the feelings of self-esteem in women, and to help tissues reach their peak elasticity. Research shows that the Kriston Method can generate significant organic, functional and psychological change. The focus is on the FULFILLMENT OF THE WOMAN, so that people who have undergone Wertheim surgery or other ovarian or hysterectomy operations can feel deeply that our femininity does not depend on the existence of one organ.

Effects of the Kriston Method

The Kriston Method also helps women who have had Wertheim surgery to unravel the triggers of the pre-operative condition that have not been removed by the surgery. After a Wertheim operation, the aim is not only to achieve the best organ and psychological function possible in the present state, but also to ensure that in the future we can achieve a state that supports our emotional well-being and our organ functions; that will give us a new way to live in order to maintain our health.

The Kriston Method provides a unique set of movements for the rehabilitation of women who have undergone Wertheim surgery that cannot be learnt by any other method, and which provides rapid progress through a personalised sequence of tasks. It guarantees the teaching of movements through its unique methodology. However, the Kriston Method offers so much more than this for the renewed existence of the women who have undergone Wertheim surgery. The Kriston instructors teach the women who have undergone Wertheim surgery what the doctor (physiotherapist, dietician) cannot do for us: to recognise and make the limiting parts of ourselves after Wertheim surgery work in a new way. When this new way of existing is achieved, joy appears in our lives. According to an oncologist who has undergone the operation herself, 'The Kriston Method should be made compulsory for all cancer patients.'

After surgery, several modules of the Kriston Method targets conscious protection. You can start learning the protection programme in the 6th week after surgery.
